| Two
types of rotors are available: Open End and
Closed (shrouded) End
Open End Rotors:
For handling of non-abrasive material. Standard
8-vane construction and generally preferred on pneumatic conveying applications
since they have greater airlock capabilities. On applications where
the temperatures can exceed 100º F, the rotor can grow in length and
diameter. Therefore, the temperature has to be taken into consideration
during the manufacturing process and the rotor machined accordingly to
compensate; otherwise the rotor can jam.
Closed End Rotors:
The design of this type of valve forces the material to be held within
the pockets and are commonly used in cyclone and filtration applications
where abrasion is a concern. Minimum air leakage occurs with closed end
type rotary valves.
Features
Adjustable Tips:
For handling most products. Tips are adjustable, reversible,
replaceable. Tips available in mild steel, stainless, PVC rigid,
PTFE.
Reduced Capacity
Rotors: For handling sticky or difficult-to-discharge
materials. For applications where the process requires a large valve
but with a reduced capacity.
